What would you do?

I confess twice a year I buy a lottery ticket. I do not buy the tickets with any hope of winning. I buy the tickets to exercise my dreaming power. What would I do if I had $42,000,000? After you traveled. After you bought the car, house and steak dinners and took care of your family, what then would you do?

This is a great question. What would you do if you knew you could not fail? This is a question I ask myself all the time. I would drive a Mitsubishi 3000 GT. I would live in a nice brick house. I would live debt free. I would become a millionaire. I would travel when and where I please. I would work in a profession that helps people and makes a difference. What would you do? I even have a dream book that spells out all of these dreams and 30 more.

After 10 years of dreaming like this I have accomplished many of my dreams. I do drive a Mitsubishi 300 GT. I do live debt free except for a mortgage on my house. I do go to Europe every other year and I’m going on a cruise in July. What type of dreams would you like to follow?

Too Low - Too Slow

Dr. Robert Schuler used to ask people not to set their dreams too low or too slow. In other words Dream High. You can do far more than you think you can. You can do far more that you ever dreamed possible. But first you must dream great dreams. Then you must put those dreams into action. I recommend that you triple the size of your dreams. If you want to be a millionaire, dream of being a triple millionaire. If you dream of being a millionaire by age 65, plan on doing it by age 45. Yes dream higher than you think is possible.

I like the story of a young boy cutting across the field and being chased by a bull. He decided to jump for the limb on the tree in the field. In his excitement he misses the limb, but he caught it on the way down.

Dream High even if you miss you will have accomplished more than if you dream low.

What Committee

What committee are you on? In every company and every organization there are official committees like board of directors, finance, and marketing committees. But there are also some unofficial committees. Committees like…

Yes Yes committee…
They say yes to everything no matter what it is. They usually don’t do anything. Their yes is for you to do something.

I’m against it …
This committee is the exact opposite of the yes committee. No matter what you bring up they are against it.

We tried that once, it never worked.
This committee tries to put a stop to everything. They think they have seen it before.

Unforgiveness committee.
This committee never lets us forget and move on Let’s go back to the way it used to be. This is the committee that really tries to move everything back the 1950’s.

If the president would just get it right.
This committee is always blaming the president and the leadership no matter who it is.

We need people on the committee of “Let’s think this through and do the right thing for all people and give the leadership a break once in a while” committee.

What committee are you on?
